1. Information we collect
We collect the information needed to provide personalized English practice, including your email address and basic account profile; study plans; practice sessions and durations; optional scores; saved vocabulary and examples; learning progress; corrections or mistakes you choose to save; and the email address, topic, and message you submit through our support form.
When you connect Speakrum to ChatGPT or Codex, we process authentication and authorization information needed to secure that connection. Speakrum does not ask for or store your OpenAI password. Short-lived authorization codes are encrypted and expire automatically.
We may also receive limited technical and usage information from our hosting and analytics providers, such as pages viewed, device or browser category, approximate region, and operational logs used to keep the service reliable.
2. How we use information
We use your information to authenticate you, deliver and personalize speaking practice, display progress, maintain saved vocabulary, secure connected services, respond to support requests, understand aggregate product usage, and prevent abuse or technical failures.
3. Connected AI services
When you explicitly use the Speakrum plugin, the plugin may return relevant learning data—such as your active plan, recent sessions, or saved vocabulary—to ChatGPT or Codex so it can fulfill your request. We limit responses to the information needed for the selected tool. Your use of those products is also governed by the terms and privacy practices of their provider.
4. Service providers and sharing
We use trusted service providers to operate Speakrum, including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Vercel for hosting and analytics, and OpenAI when you choose to connect and use the Speakrum plugin. They process information on our behalf or at your direction under their own contractual and security obligations.
We do not sell personal information or use learner data to serve third-party advertising. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep account and learning data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Some limited records may be retained where necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion through the Speakrum support form.
6. Security
We use encrypted connections, scoped authentication, access controls, and row-level data protections designed to keep each learner’s records private. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for those transfers.
8. Children
Speakrum is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and remove it.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Speakrum evolves. We will publish the revised version here and update the date above. Questions or privacy requests can be sent through the Speakrum support form.
